Our History

ETC is a non-profit organization established in 1994. Since its inception, ETC has been making differences for the economically challenged population in our community.

Starting ETC on a shoestring budget--although difficult--has proven anything is possible if you put your heart into it. Job training with placement assistance, plus basic business start-ups, has stimulated the personal and local economy here in our Valley.

Our monitoring of past clients has given us a clearer picture of what does and doesn’t work in the world of social services and business service training curriculum. ETC now has six (6) workshop locations with others in the planning stages.

Economic Outlook

As we enter the 21st century, we are engaged in a new economy that is distinguishing itself from previous economies. It is global, knowledge and information based, fast moving and technology driven. Its workforce is knowledge dependant.

ETC understands the obstacles that hinder people from reaching their full potential. We nurture individuals who desire to take the next and needed steps to improving their skills, job-readiness and lifestyles.

Fresno’s Regional Job Initiative anticipates 25,000 to 30,000 new jobs being created in the Fresno area within the next five (5) years. This initiative will generate thousands of good paying positions throughout the Fresno area. With this in mind, ETC’s focus is on empowering individuals with the skills needed to secure these high paying, self-sustaining positions.
